Happy New Year! 12-31-2007
My resolution for this new year is to take even more care and consideration into making our planet cleaner and healthier by spreading the word! As the Ball drops tonight in Times Square, I felt that there were a few characteristics about the ball this year that you need to know. What makes this new ball unique is that the lighting provided by Philips is state of the art Luxeon LED lighting. This new lighting has astounding increase in brightness, energy efficiency, and color capabilities. Needless to say the ball is twice as bright and can create a palette of more then 16 million colors, while the entire Times Square Ball will be lit with approximately the same amount of electricity as it takes to power ten toasters or a single oven/range. Think about that, It’s twice as bright, yet uses half the power of last year’s ball ! With the 100th anniversary of the ball drop I think this is a great time to echo today’s energy-conscious culture. Let your New Year’s Resolution be to become more energy efficient in what you do at work and at home!

In today’s world more than any other time, “Green” is in. Whether it is longer-lasting light bulbs or Al Gore winning the Noble Peace Price, we have entered a time where we need to decide and make important choices on our future. Zeek believes that every little step adds up to a big change. Whether you are on the forefront of this movement or not, it is important and we should all do our part. Zeek asks that you do the little things, recycle that soda can, turn off the lights in your office when you head out to lunch, bring a trash bag with you when you take a walk and pick up garbage on the side of the road or trail. For those of you that have made the big steps and are driving hybrid cars or are using alternative energy sources, THANK YOU! Zebra’s Eco line is one way do your part. These eco products are created by pulling waste materials from our dumps and re-using them to create everyday items.
